When all sorts of paperwork seem to scatter all over your desk, it is a good idea to neatly keep them away in an organized and reachable manner, instead of making a mess. Cabinets with vertical drawers have served this purpose for a long time. These vertical filing cabinets allow one to already arrange their documents or other articles in an organized manner as soon as they get them, without having to rearrange them later on. However, with paperwork that is so varied and that increases rapidly, it might be a good idea to rethink the functionality of the traditional vertical cabinet. Opting for a horizontal, two-door cabinet is a better idea for a number of advantages it has over a vertical cabinet.

Space is the operative word when it comes to arranging one’s office. A question one asks is how to utilize it. A more specific problem is how to have enough space to safely file away one’s continually increasing papers, files and other documents. A two-door filing cabinet wins over a vertical one simply because it provides more space in its compartments. One might consider the issue of floor space where a vertical cabinet occupies less area than a two-door one. However, for the sake of being more organized, one can simply rework one’s working space arrangement to fit in a two-door filing cabinet because, having more depth in its compartments, it hold more things.

Another advantage that a horizontal filing cabinet has over a vertical one is that its height can be increased. So, while it holds more things inside its compartments, it can also serve as a desk. Similar things have been tried with vertical cabinets attached to desks, but horizontal cabinets win over again simply because they are more multifunctional.

Two-drawer cabinets are found in most kitchens and other forms of home-furnishing. Since we are living in an urbanized environment, a question of neatly fitting in a large amount of things in tiny apartment rooms becomes important. Similarly, offices also follow this urban trend of packing in more things in a relatively smaller space. Two-drawer cabinets are the perfect(and preferred) solution for this.
