Did you know that storing an air compressor is not as easy as unhooking it and putting it in a safe place? What most people don’t realize is that air compressors are meant to be store the same way every single time and if they are not stored properly then they won’t have as long of a life span. The first thing you need to understand about air compressors is they must never be stored with a full tank of air. The reason why you never want to store it with a full tank is for two reasons; the first being that this will create water vapors inside the tank and when there is water in the tank it might harm your air tools, the second reason is because leaving a tank full is risky because if every that tank where to get hit or be punctured then it could explode and possibly hurt somebody.
Another thing you need to know is that when you store an air compressor you need to make sure the bottom is always down. The reason why you want to store it the right way every time is because placing it on its side or upside down could move some of the parts and doing this will result in your air compressor having problems. What you need to understand is storing your air compressor is just as important as cleaning it and that is why you need to always make sure that it is clean enough that you could read every single sticker that it on it. The last thing you need to understand about air pumps is when dealing with a gas one you need to make sure that you never leave gas inside it if you are not going to be using it for more than 60 days and the reason is because the gas will start to go bad because of the evaporation that takes place. Do yourself a favor and if you are going to spend hundreds of dollars on a single machine you at least need to properly take care of it.
