Colour can give us a huge insight into a person’s personality, as we tend to associate colour with how we feel. Not only is the colour important, the furniture in your bedroom is too, this included the bedframe and headboards. Also, guest rooms are just as important having a great guest bed can add so much modern taste to a room. This way you can choose the type of headboard to suit the decor of the room. When you decide to decorate a room the colour of the room will have to be the first decision before you decide on the type, style and colour of the furniture. The bedroom is an extremely personal place and so here is a short list of what your choice of wall colour might be saying about you:
Red – we start with red, as it is usually the colour people personify the most. We immediately think of fiery and passionate people. Red is forward and brash and a person with red walls is compulsive, creative, assertive and courageous.
White – the colour of purity, innocence and cleanliness. White walls depict an extremely tidy person, someone who is control of their life and oozes calm. White walls could also simply mean…a lazy painter! Expect lots of linear artwork.
Cream – we come to cream next because so many people, particularly in new builds, are sticking to a neutral theme. Neutral is practical, it sells better and again it has an air of cleanliness to it. Cream rooms are often adorned with brown furniture and warm decorations creating an inviting ‘homely’ atmosphere.
Yellow – the colour of summer and sunshine. Yellow is bright and happy all year round, it is idealistic, positive and fun however it can be very overpowering. It is said to upset babies but aid concentration, there are two sides to this colour. Be certain this is the shade you want.
Blue – the colour of tranquillity. Blue is said to have calming effects, perfect for the bedroom. It is the colour of the sea and the sky; a person with blue walls is surrounding themselves with peace and aiding their ability to relax.
Green – another soothing colour, ever popular in decorating. Green is the colour of nature, it is medicinal, calming and like blue, it is peaceful. The green bedroom may see other activity as well as sleeping, calming activities such as reading and meditation.
