Mailboxes are one of the first things you see when you enter a residence, an important element of the overall entry statement. No longer something that we wish to have fade into the surroundings, but rather one more opportunity to dress the area up. We are seeing a growing trend in beautiful customized mailboxes and a great amount of thought is being put in its design.
Iron Age Studios takes elements out of nearby items such as lanterns, railings and/or doors for inspiration. In a previous post, Betty Lou Phillips’ French Impressions, featured a mailbox that was inspired by what a client saw on a palazzo when traveling in Verona, Italy.

I am going to guess by now that most of us have seen or heard about Hôtel Americano but when I came across it again I had a re-education as to why it resonates so well with me. One element that I really love are the rooms designed by French designer Arnaud Montigny. Architecture inside architecture is hard to pull off, but the bed in the second picture is simply stunning.
